Funny girl Zooey Deschanel is wasting no time getting back into the dating game. After filing for divorce six months ago from Death Cab For Cutie rocker Ben Gibbard, Deschanel is now seeing screenwriter Jamie Linden.

Us Weekly reports that the pair stepped out on Sunday evening for the "Magic Mike" premiere after party. Deschanel was originally reported to be holding hands with "a mystery guy," but he was later identified as Jamie Linden, the screenwriter for hits like "dear John" and "We Are Marshall."

An insider revealed some HUGE information about Linden. The screenwriter is reportedly a "really nice guy." Besides that mind blowing detail, the insider also told Us Weekly that "he's funny, and a little geeky...he's into her!" Bonus points to Linden for being "into" the girl he's seeing.

Deschanel and Linden's relationship is very new, and something the "New Girl" actress wasn't expecting.

In April Zooey Deschanel told Marie Claire that dating wasn't really on her mind. "Honestly, I'm just going through a divorce, so I don't really think that's something I want to get into now. I don't have time to date. I literally -- don't-have-time," she revealed to the magazine.

Deschanel was married to Ben Gibbard for two years before separating in November, reports the Huffington Post. She filed for divorce in January.

So who is Jamie Linden, the "new guy" that seemed to capture the "New Girl's" heart?

  • Florida State University - Linden attended Florida State University, graduating in 2001. It was there that the future screenwriter became obsessed with the Marshall University tragedy. His obsession later moved him to pen the screenplay for "We Are Marshall."
  • Moving To Los Angeles - Believe it or not, "The Price Is Right" played a role in Jamie Linden moving to Los Angeles. "My friend had four tickets," Linden said to his Alma Mater in an interview. "We drove out there, I got on, and I won $5,000 and a Tuscan Wine Server Cart." The screenwriter thought it was a sign that he should stay there.
  • "Things To Do Before I Die"- Working with another FSU graduate Cory Hems, the duo's first script, "Things To Do Before I Die," was picked up by Warner Bros. The studio also gave them a blind deal for another script which ended up being "We Are Marshall."
