Jason Sudeikis Leaving 'SNL'? Funny Man Confirmed To Return For 38th Season

Jason Sudeikis has kept fans in the dark on whether he will return to "Saturday Night Live," but after a summer of silence the funny man is ready to reveal his big decision...He's coming back!

Working on the late night sketch comedy show since 2003, Entertainment Weekly reports that Sudeikis will officially be back for 'SNL's" impressive 38th season. 

"Jason is in," executive producer Lorne Michaels said in an interview with the New York Times Tuesday evening. "Right now the idea is that Jason will go through at least until January. He's a fiercely loyal guy, both to the show and to me."

Sudeikis' return to the show comes as a relief, especially with the upcoming election The actor, who has also stayed busy starring in films like "Hall Pass" and "Horrible Bosses," is well known for playing presidential candidate Mitt Romney and current Vice President Joe Biden. 

While "SNL" veteran Jason Sudeikis may be returning, the show is still losing "Bridesmaids" star Kristen Wiig, "Hot Rod's" Andy Samberg and Abby Elliot, who will be a guest star on the upcoming season of "How I Met Your Mother."

The spots left behind by Wiig, Samberg and Elliot won't remain empty for long though. TVLine reported that newcomers Aidy Bryant, Tim Robinson and Cecily Strong of Chicago's Second City have been added to the sketch comedy series. 

"Saturday Night Live" kicks off its 38th season on Saturday, Sept. 15. Seth MacFarlane of "Family Guy" and "Ted" will host the premiere episode with Frank Ocean as the musical guest. 

Fans of "SNL" can also look forward to future hosts Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Daniel Craig, along with musical guests Mumford & Sons and Muse.
