Gwyneth Paltrow - who is known for her minimalist style may be one of the most humble stars in Hollywood.

According to her stylist, Elizabeth Saltzman, "She's always shocked when a store will call me and say, 'What was that jean [Gwyneth was wearing]? I've had 80 people come in today looking for it!' Gwyneth will say, 'Really?!'"

Paltrow's fondness for "really clean lines" is the reason "why she always looks appropriate and comfortable in her own skin," said Melanie Kain -- who co-designed a T-shirt with the mother-of-two for Goop.

Like her celebrity counterparts, the actress doesn't keep masses of her designer duds in her closet - which probably has enough space to handle piles of weighty frocks.

"She has an edited wardrobe," says Saltzman, after she wears an outfit, "It all gets put away and documented - when and where she wore it - and then it's gone [into storage] for her daughter. She's not a hog."

Sounds like minimalism is a way of life for the Oscar-winner.

The instant Saltzman laid eyes on the Tom Ford creation (white gown and cape) Paltrow wore at this year's Oscars, she knew her client would be on every best-dressed list. "It was just, holy moly," she explained. "Everyone was hugging each other. It was done."

Saltzman was so convinced that Paltrow would worship the frock she didn't even bother providing her with an alternate choice - although she did have one tucked away in the event things didn't go her way. "I usually bring no more than four things for her to look at," she said. "For the Oscars, I bought her one. I did have a second dress there, but I never even unpacked it."

Fortunately, the stylist's gutsy move worked in her favor. "I said, 'Hey y'all, in your sequins and your tulle - side slits, beads, color!' It was a moment where you just put up your hand and go, 'I'm sorry,'" continued Saltzman. "No one had rocked a cape. No one had gone dead simple. You just knew it was going to change fashion."
