Reports about a relationship between South African beauty Charlize Theron and 'Modern Family" funnyman Eric Stonestreet, has been spreading like wildfire.

Things got so out of hand, Stonestreet took to Twitter to shoot down the romance rumors -- lest it upset his a-list honey, Halle Berry.

"I wish people would stop spreading rumors that Charlize Theron and I are dating," he wrote. "Its starting to make Halle Berry jealous." That jokester.

On a more serious note, his reps released a brief statement following his clever remark, saying, "There is nothing romantic going on between them. He has only met Charlize twice!"

Stonestreet is nominated for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series for his role as the larger-than-life Cameron, in "Modern Family," and will be escorted to the Emmys by his best pal, Paul. "Today I'm taking my best friend Paul to the Emmys. He dared me to audition for the first play I ever did at #kstate. #Emmys," he wrote.

The actor grew up in Kansas City and admitted to tending to pigs and cows as a youngster. "I had pigs and cows to feed every morning and every night from about the third grade on." He told the Kansas City Stars. "We didn't farm land. It was all with 4-H. I had a full-on pig operation from the time I was in third grade until I graduated high school. But none of my best friends in high school had pigs and cows."

When Stonestreet was told by producers his character, Cameron, would hail from a rural area, he suggested any other state but Kansas, because he didn't want his hometown to be the butt of anyone's jokes.

"When we started talking about where Cam was from, we wanted him to be from somewhere sort of rural," Stonestreet said. "And I knew enough about the business to know that we would start to then make fun of where Cam was from.

"So I said, well, I would rather him be from Missouri, so we'd be making fun of Missouri and not my home state of Kansas."
