‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 4 Spoilers: New Video Highlights Elena’s Struggles And Damon's Anger

Breathe easy "Vampire Diaries" fans. Season four premieres in just a few days. If you are dying for some Mystic Falls drama right now though, fret not. We stumbled across a brand new preview for the hit CW series, and it gives away some serious spoilers about the first two episodes.

The video from ITV2 kicks off by recapping the horrible car accident that took Elena's life. For those that don't remember, the season three finale found Matt trying to drive Elena out of town for her safety. Unfortunately his plan backfired when Rebekah stepped in front of his car, causing him and Elena to drive off Wickery Bridge. Although Stefan appeared within seconds of their car crash, not enough time remained to save both Elena and Matt. Initially moving to save Elena first, she motioned for Stefan to bring Matt to safety. Stefan ended up being too late in going back for Elena, and she drowned...with vampire blood in her system.

So, what can "Vampire Diaries" fans expect out of season four? Be prepared for some serious struggles from Elena. Waking up from the accident, the high school student is going to have a hard time accepting her fate as a vampire. Elena won't be the only one taking it hard though. Jeremy will be suffering from the loss of another loved one, Damon will be upset with Stefan for letting her die, and Bonnie will be doing everything in her (witchy) power to turn Elena back into a human.

Meanwhile, Elena's transformation won't be the only thing affecting the town of Mystic Falls. The video below shows a first look at Connor (the new deadly vampire hunter in town), and another man that will be a threat to the supernatural beings (possibly Pastor Young).

Season four of "The Vampire Diaries" premieres on the CW on Thursday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m.
