"Adele Baby Fine" read the beginnings of the headlines for what could be one of the strangest stories out of Britain's top-of-the-charts in months. According to recent reports across all the major digital media heavyweights, Adele-- the popular singer notorious on all sides of the pond (and, indeed, all around the world) for platinum hits like "Someone Like You," "Set Fire to the Rain," and, most recently, the killer, best-song-in-years theme to the new James Bond movie, "Skyfall" -- potentially set to be fined a whopping fee of $1600 for failing to register to the birth of her newborn baby. As many of her fans are already aware, Adele gave birth to her boy on October 19th. However, most are unaware of Britain's strict laws regarding the registration of newborn births, punishing those who turn a blind eye and ear to them with a steep fine. Check out some seriously cute photos and video embedded below to see what the singer could very well have to pay for.

The "Adele Baby Fine" stories all report that the popular singer was given ample notice to let the government know about the birth of her child. Though the international media widely reported about the birth of Adele's newest addition to her family, that wasn't enough for the British government. According to the country's laws, Adele had 42-days to register the birth of her baby with her nation's government. Now that the media reports that she has officially failed to do so, she and her fiance, Simon Konecki, now face a potential 1,000 euro fine for failing to let the proper authorities know about the fact that the baby bump turned into a baby birth-- in spite of the fact that the birth of the boy in the middle of last October was all but international common knowledge.

Does she deserve it? Probably no one deserves to pay a fine that high for a simple matter of paperwork, but it's good that government agents are pursuing a celebrity of such magnitude with the same tenacity that they'd pursue anyone. Let us know what you think below.
