'Criminal Minds' star Thomas Gibson got charged with DUI after he crashed his car into a barricade set-up for a nighttime half-marathon in downtown L.A. The 'Criminal Minds' star was charged with DUI after police smelled alcohol on his breath and he refused to take a breathalyzer test on the scene, USA Today reported.  His bail was set at $15,000 and TMZ is reporting he was still in custody as of Monday morning.

A devoted family man, Gibson currently stars in 'Criminal Minds' but has a long career in film and television.  He is best known for his portrayal of Greg Montgomery in the ABC sitcom 'Dharma and Greg' which ran from 1997 to 2002. Gibson received two golden Globe nominations for his work on 'Dharma and Greg.' He became a 'Criminal Minds' star in 2005 when he landed the role of Special Agent Aaron 'Hotch' Hotchner. 'Criminal Minds' is one of the top-rated shows in its timeslot, drawing more than 6 million viewers this past Wednesday.

The 'Criminal Minds' star's DUI was a blight on the first-ever 'New Year's Race - Los Angeles At Night' half-marathon. A road closure notice was posted on the marathon's website, but Gibson apparently was unaware the race was happening.

When he's not filming a highly-rated crimetime drama or getting DUIs at marathons, Gibson is an avid golfer and organizer of the Screen Actors Guild foundation's 'Actors Fore Actors' charity golf tournament.

Reps for Gibson and CBS have not commented on the 'Criminal Minds' star's DUI.
