West coast rapper, DJ and producer "The Alchemist" is composing an original soundtrack for the upcoming "GTA 5" game, Pinoytutorial reported.

"According to this tweet by Alchemist's official account, the American rapper hinted that he will collaborate on making an "original score" for Grand Theft Auto V," claimed Pinoytutorial. However, the Twitter page the news-site links to is no longer available, suggesting that the rapper was asked to delete any evidence of the information he had just leaked.

This is a step up for Alchemist, who was featured in the last GTA title on a special in-game radio station. The station featured 10 songs by "Gangrene," a hip hop duo made up of Alchemist and Oh No.

Don't worry though. You'll still be able to surf radio channels while cruising in GTA 5. Alchemist's soundtrack will only play during story-driven gameplay.

"We thought [we] could do something interesting if we scored missions in GTA," Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser told The Guardian. "Obviously we didn't want to lose radio stations, so we thought we'd do both.

Rockstar has commissioned popular artists to compose scores for previous games as well. "Chinatown Wars," "Red Dead Redemption" (by Elm and Woody Jackson) and "Max Payne 3" (by HEALTH) all featured original music.

Alchemist is best known for his work with Mobb Deep and Dilated Peoples in the '90s. More recently he's worked closely with Eminem, signing with the Detroit-born rapper Shady Records label.
