Katy Perry and Rihanna are famous BFF's but the Wide Awake singer is not interested in being the Bajan beauty's savior.

Perry gave an interview to UK's Elle for their September edition. She spoke of her friendship with the Umbrella singer and said Rihanna was dear to her.

"I love her [Rihanna] and every time I see her, I'm reminded of the light that she has," Perry said.

Perry then added that she was not quite as fond of those who surrounded the 25-year-old pop singer.  Perry insinuated that these people could prove harmful to Rihanna.

"There's a lot of dark in this business. I know a lot of people out there with the most detrimental entourages - they are the root of their demise," Perry said.

However, the 28-year-old did not fashion herself as trying to save anyone from themselves. There were reports earlier this year that Perry disapproved of Rihanna's brief reunion with Chris Brown who famously assaulted the singer in 2009. The rumors gained traction as the two were no longer frequently seen together. They had previously been very public with their get togethers.

"It's really unfortunate but you can't save these people. My days of celebrity saving are over," Perry said.
