Katy Perry made public her affection for boyfriend John Mayer this week after she turned to Twitter to promote his new album.

On Monday, Perry took to Twitter to say:

"Something VERY special is happening at midnight EST tonight on iTunes!" she Tweeted. "My incredible, inspiring boyfriend John Mayer will release a spectacular record called Paradise Valley check it out here."

Perry, 28, and Mayer, 35 have been rumored to be dating shortly after Perry divorced from British comedian Russell Brand in early 2012. News of their relationship have been followed by break up reports, but the couple are together now.

Recently, the duo released their first duet together Who You Love.

"The hope is you hear it once because of the curiosity and then you go 'Wow I like that. I could find a place for hearing that a lot more," Mayer said about the duet to Billboard.

Mayer has talked about his relationship with Perry, telling Billboard that he is "not running anymore" from her affection.

"My girl, she ain't the one I saw coming and sometimes I don't know which way to go and I tried to run before, but I'm not running anymore," he told the magazine.

"I tried to be alone and I can't," he added.

In another news, Perry is experiencing musical success at the moment. Her newly relelased song Roar is now forecasted to top her hit Firework with downloads in the range of 525,000 to 550,000, more than the 400,000 downloads for Firework on it's first week in the market.

Perry's Roar was also the singer's biggest debut on iTunes to date.

Roar is the first single of Perry's new album Prism set to hit stores on October 22.
