Azealia Banks Slams Lady Gaga for Copying Her Mermaid Style

Azealia Banks slammed Lady Gaga for being a copycat of her Mermaid style, E! News reported Wednesday.

Banks took exception to a tweet Gaga wrote on Tuesday evening. The Applause superstar gave a list about what fans could expect on an upcoming promotional appearance.

I will be providing a list of acceptable attire for #SwineFest throughout the week. Item 1: Seashells. Item 2: Seahorses 3: Starfish

The mention of seashells drew the ire of 21-year old Banks. She took to her Twitter to accuse Gaga of taking her mermaid look as her own.

Gaga has not responded to the claims that her sea shell themed attire at the VMA’s was a blatant rip of Banks. Nor has the singer addressed Banks claims that her follow up plans are further proof she was inspired by her. However, Gaga has been known to be a fan of the mermaid style dating back to 2011, a year earlier than Banks' public appreciation for it.
