The Los Angeles Lakers have told Lamar Odom that if he seeks treatment in rehab, there will still be a place on the franchise team for him, Radar Online reported Thursday.

Sources said that influential parties in the Lakers organization have reached out to Odom. They would like to help Odom with his alleged drug problem because they are concerned about him. He has been told that if treatment is completed, there will be a spot reserved for him on the team. The 33-year-old is currently a free agent.

"The Lakers are a family and even though Lamar isn't currently on their roster, that doesn't matter, he's a two-time championship Laker," a source said.

However, another insider said that Odom has thus far resisted any calls to enter rehab. He was described as resistance to the idea. He was under the belief that he could wean himself off drugs by himself according to a source and that there was no need for any formal help.

"Lamar is really resisting rehab, even with the Lakers' offer on the table. He doesn't want to miss training camp. Lamar thinks he can kick this on his own. It's very hard for him to admit that he needs help," a source said.
