Simon Cowell has no plans to leave his massive estate to his soon to be born child, E! News reported Friday.

Cowell made the comments to Esquire. He said that his fortune, estimated to be worth $350 million, would not go to any offspring.

"I'm going to leave my money to somebody. A charity, probably-kids and dogs," the 53-year-old said.

Cowell explained his rationale for not allowing any financial provisions for loved ones. It was his belief that materialistic goods should not be an inheritance. He did not see the benefit.

"I don't believe in passing on from one generation to another. Your legacy has to be that hopefully you gave enough people an opportunity, so that they could do well, and you gave them your time, taught them what you know," he said.

Earlier in the week, Cowell spoke of his affection for his unborn son with Lauren Silverman. He was moved by a picture of a sonogram. The Brit said that his paternal feelings came to the surface after seeing his unborn baby. He was overcome with emotion.

"I went to see a scan today and it is just surreal. You literally see this thing which is now alive moving around. I feel very paternal right now. So, I am very happy," he said.
