Elton John does not believe that Miley Cyrus is headed down the right path, The Huffington Post reported Monday.

The singing legend made his comments on Cyrus to The Australian. He commented that Cyrus' actions of late. The 20-year-old has caused controversy with her endless twerking and nude appearances. In August, she sent social media into an uproar because of her performance with Robin Thicke at the MTV VMAS. She gyrated against the Blurred Lines singer and made suggestive moves with a foam finger.

The Candle in the Wind legend did not feel that Cyrus was going to ultimately benefit from her actions.

"I look at Miley Cyrus and I see a meltdown waiting to happen," he said. "And she's so young! But she's got two records in the top 20, so who is going to stop her?"

John said that he could spot a train wreck before it happened. He had similar thoughts about Michael Jackson who died in 2009 of a drug overdose and likened Cyrus to him.

"He'd been doing drugs for so long, he'd been a mess for so long -- and I've known Michael since he was 12 or 13 -- that it was never going to happen," John said.

John also took Lady Gaga to task. She is the godmother of his two children but he felt that the Applause singer has taken a turn for the worse as well.

"With Gaga -- who I love, she's the godmother to our children -- I'd like to be able to talk to her right now, but I can't get through to her," John said. "And there are times when you have to listen. When your persona begins to take over your music and becomes more important, you enter a dangerous place. Once you have people around you who don't question you, you're in a dangerous place."
