Simon Cowell has declared that success has enabled the ego of Kanye West, Radar Online reported Wednesday.

Cowell appeared on OMG Insider. He responded to the assertions made by West that he was the biggest rock star on the planet.  Simon, the host of X Factor, took West to task for that claim.

"I have an expression which is that success doesn't create the monster, it enables the monster," he said.

The comments were also in response to West's tirade against comedian Jimmy Kimmel. West was on a profanity ridden Twitter rant last week. He was angered that the late night talk show poked fun at himby using children to recite West's boasts.

"Jimmy enjoys the fact that Kanye is a malignant narcissist and megalomaniac and that his ego knows no boundaries," a source said.

West is also facing legal difficulties because of his temperament. In September, West became the subject of criminal charges because of the incident. The Watch the Throne rapper was charged with criminal battery and attempted grand theft. They are both misdemeanors with maximum penalties of six months each. He has since claimed self defense. West believed he acted appropriately in July when he charged towards Daniel Ramos as LAX Airport in Los Angeles and that Ramos should not be awarded any money because he has not "been damaged in any amount whatsoever."
