Joe Jonas smoked weed for the first time with Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato and lost his virginity at 20, he revealed to New York magazine.

In the Dec. 9 issue, Jonas penned an essay about his rise to fame and the fallout. 'Joe Jonas: My Life As a Jonas Brother' shared how the Jonas Brothers first got their big break once Disney offered the brothers their own television show. However, it came with many consitons such as how to act and the pressure to be role models. He and brothers began to wear purity rings.

"Because of our age, because of Disney, because of those rings, there were so many things throughout our career that we had to sugarcoat. If a lyric was slightly sexual, someone at the record company would tell us we had to change it," he said.

Jonas revealed that he lost his virginity at 20. Since that point, he became involved in various high profile relationships. One of them was with Taylor Swift. Another was with Lovato whom he dated for one month. Jonas said he got to know her well documented struggles up close.

"I really got to know her and got to see the ins and outs of what she was struggling with, like drug abuse. I felt like I needed to take care of her, but at the same time I was living a lie, because I wasn't happy but felt like I had to stay in it for her, because she needed help. I couldn't express any of that, of course, because I had a brand to protect," he said.

Jonas also revealed that that Lovato and Cyrus were the first ones he experimented with drugs with. He felt pressured at the age of 17 by the two Disney stars.

"I must have been 17 or 18. They kept saying, 'Try it! Try it!' so I gave it a shot, and it was all right," he recalled. "I don't even smoke weed that often anymore," he said.
