'Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev: Bullied When She was Younger for Her Looks

Nina Dobrev is one of the gorgeous actresses, who many people admire today. However, revealed that she was bullied when she was younger.

She told E! News that she was bullied for her looks. She was attending the TrevorLive benefit for the LGBT youth hotline The Trevor Project at the Hollywood Palladium as a guest of as a guest of Vampire Diaries creator Kevin Williamson.

"I had a couple of awkward stages," the 24-year-old actress said. "Now we have hair and makeup. I pay professionals. But you didn't have professionals when you were grade three."

This was the time when the teasing began.

"I had a chunky face," the Vampire Diaries recalled. "I had a phase where I cut my hair like a boy so kids will find anything to pick on you for whether it's true or not because it makes them feel better and bigger and it isn't until you're the victim that you realize that it's not fun and it's not cool...Until you learn, you can hurt a lot of people."

"The Trevor Project has helped so many people save lives and hopefully it will continue to save more," she added.

Meanwhile, there have been many speculation about Dobrev's love life. There were a lot of people who were devastated when she and Ian Somerhalder ended their three year relationship in May. However, a recent tweet from Dobrev exposed that the two are still very close.

Dobrev tweeted a birthday greeting to her ex: "Happy Bday Smouldy! Hope you had a beautiful day filled w/ smiles+gluten free cake! But not too much cake, we're on the CW :P @IanSomerhadler."
