Tamera Mowry recently opened up about the pain she has dealt with after years of hurtful comments regarding her interracial marriage to Adam Housley.

During Friday's Oprah: Where Are they Now? special Mowry spoke about the issue with her sister, Tia Mowry, at her side.

"It's hurtful, because my husband and I are so openly and fine with showing love, but people choose to look past love and spew hate," an tearful Mowry said. "That's what hurts me because I've never experienced so much hate ever in my life. I get called ‘white man's wh**e. The new one was ‘back in the day you cost $300, but now you're giving it to him for free."

Despite her critics, Mowry remains focused on her husband and her son.

"I love my husband so much," she said. "I love our family. I love our dynamic. I'm proud to be in the relationship I am because it's based on love. Pure love."

Housley also spoke out against the hurtful words being spewed against him and Mowry.

"Yes, I am white. Yes, she is half-black. Marrying a white man does not erase her color and marrying a woman who is half-black does not mean I am blinded," he said in an interview with TVNewser. "The problem isn't pigmentation… the problem is backwards, bigoted thoughts from people who should know better."
