Jacqueline Laurita starred on The Real Housewives of New Jersey for five seasons, but ahead of the sixth season, she was reportedly let go by producers. Following her exit, Laurita is speaking out about life post-Bravo.

"Right now, I'm really just enjoying time with my family and I'm writing a few books," Laurita revealed to Life & Style on Feb. 21. "My husband and I are writing a book together about our journey with autism."

During Laurita's stint on the show, her four-year-old son Nicholas was diagnosed with autism. Ever since, Laurita has been hard at work, looking for ways to properly deal with her son's condition. Laurita and her husband, Chris Laurita, have learned tons and are excited to share their knowledge with fellow parents of autistic children.

Laurita is also writing a book about beauty for busy moms and a children's book. Overall, Laurita is loving life away from the cameras.

"It's just been really great with my family," Laurita explained. "I feel like I'm in a very good place."

After season five, Bravo producers opted for a major change. Although they kept Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga as full-time housewives, they pushed Kathy Wakile into a lesser role, and Caroline Manzo went on to star in her own spinoff, Manzo'd With Children, which will air later this year.

While it is unknown what exactly led to Laurita's exit from the show, she doesn't seem to mind not returning -  nor is she ruling out a possible return during a later season.

"I needed a little bit of a break, but we'll see what happens from there," Laurita said of her future with Bravo.
