Connor Cruise has opened up about his relationship with his mother Nicole Kidman.

Following Kidman's divorce from Tom Cruise, Connor sided with his dad, choosing to live with him and distance himself from his mother. However, after years of reported estrangement, Connor has reconnected with Kidman and said in a new interview that their relationship is "solid."

"I love my mum," Connor told Woman's Day Australia in a recent interview. "I love her a lot. My family means everything."

Connor insists his relationship with his mom is completely healthy.

"I don't care what people say, I know that me and Mum are solid," he explained.

After tying the knot in 1990, Kidman and Cruise adopted two children, Isabella, now 21, and Connor, now 19. Then, in 2001, when Connor was just six-years-old, the couple announced they were separating. Two days later, Cruise filed for divorce.

Since then, Kidman remarried and gave birth to two biological daughters with husband, country singer and American Idol judge, Keith Urban. But while Kidman is often photographed with her and Urban's daughters, it has been several years since she was pictured with Connor and Isabella.

In 2012, a source spoke to Us Weekly, claiming that while the children still have communication with Kidman, the circumstances are far from the normal parent/child situation.

"Isabella does still speak to Nicole, as does Connor, just not as much as they used to when they were younger and Tom and Nicole were together," a source told the magazine. "Nicole is far away and doesn't visit L.A. often so there's naturally going to be that distance."
