Paul Walker's mom is requesting guardianship of his 15-year-old daughter.

Cheryl Walker filed court documents in an effort to gain legal right to care for Meadow because, she claims, Meadow's mother, Rebecca Soteros, has a serious drinking problem.

In the documents obtained by TMZ on March 18, Cheryl states that Meadow and her mom are currently living with her in California, but since Rebecca is unable to care for the child due to her alcoholism, Cheryl wants to become the legal guardian of her granddaughter.

In Aug. 2013, Rebecca was charged with DUI in Hawaii, where she had been living with her daughter up until 2011 when Meadow moved to Los Angeles to be with her dad. Rebecca also received a DUI in 2003 after being caught driving drunk in Orange County, Calif.

According to Cheryl, she's more than qualified to take over the role of parent since she's "raised 4 kids, she's a registered nurse and is a loving person," and because Paul requested Cheryl be awarded guardianship in his will, it is clear that is what he wanted, as well.

Following Paul's tragic death on Nov. 30, 2013, it was reported that he and Rebecca often feuded over her drinking.

As TMZ reported in Feb. 2014, "Meadow called her famous dad in 2011 and pleaded to let her move to L.A. and live with him. He happily obliged, because we're told Paul and Rebecca had countless arguments for years over her drinking problems."
