Shannon Beador claims starring on The Real Housewives of Orange County was a good thing for her relationship with husband David.

In a new interview, Beador, whose marriage was in crisis during the show's ninth season, opened up about how her involvement in the series saved her marriage.

"Throughout the filming process, I did notice that I was nagging a lot," Beador explained to Life & Style on July 22. "I started to realize that all I did was nag and complain that he didn't spend time with me because that's all I knew and in effect I was pushing him away.”

During an episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County season nine, Beador received an email from her husband, which stated that they were having marriage troubles -- and that he was planning to move out. When Beador got the email, she was on the phone with her co-star, Tamra Barney, and although they planned to keep the email secret at the time it was read, Barney later revealed its contents to their co-stars.

Following the shocking email, David explained to Beador that he wrote it in the heat of the moment and didn't really want to end their marriage. He also said that he shouldn't have sent the email at all.

While going through such a private moment on camera may not have been the ideal situation, it has done wonders for the Beadors, and now, things between them are better than ever.

"Our relationship right now is stronger than it was the day we got married!" Beador added.

As for Beador's current relationship with Barney, she now calls her former friend "a blip in my life."

The Real Housewives of Orange County airs every Monday at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
