Hercules: Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson's Most Epic Role Yet!

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson may have starred as the Scorpion King in The Mummy films but THE mythological icon that he's dreamed about portraying is Hercules. He does have the right muscular built.

He joined "Live with Kelly & Michael" and shared that he'd wanted to do this film years ago but it wasn't possible back then.

He's been hardcore about playing this legendary role. The epic beard he wore in the film took more than three hours to prepare and it's made out of the hair from the testicles of a yak, reported ABC News. According to Johnson, "It's the softest..."

His Hercules-beard hair reveal may gross out some but it doesn't bother Johnson, "It's the commitment to which I will go to for a film," he shared on the show.

But The Rock has to bring it, since there are big sandals to fill. Kevin Sorbo, who starred as Hercules in the 90s cult classic series, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, made the role iconic. "We were sort of taken aback they wouldn't let me in that movie. I didn't do a cameo. I think it's kinda stupid, really," Sorbo told Us Weekly recently.

"If the general winds of buzz and tracking are to be believed, Dwayne Johnson's Hercules is looking like what amounts to a swing-and-a-miss," reported Forbes, pointing out the lack of big promotions. Regardless of the stats, even the Forbes reporter is rooting for The Rock.
