Michael Lohan is worried that his pregnant girlfriend isn't getting proper care in jail.

According to a new report, Lohan has grown so concerned about Kate Major's pregnancy that he's hired Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, to take legal action in an effort to ensure she does not miscarry their second child together.

"Lohan claims Kate started bleeding this week -- on 2 separate occasions -- but both times she was taken to an infirmary and sent back to her cell," TMZ reported on Aug. 3. "Michael says there were no specialists to treat Kate and all they did was an ultrasound which showed a heartbeat."

In May 2014, Major was sentenced to eight months in jail after pleading guilty to DUI in Palm Beach, Fla. Although the DUI charge may not have led to jail time in and of itself, the charge triggered a probation violation, which ultimately sent Major to jail. Major was placed on probation in Jan. 2012, following an incident in which Major allegedly assaulted a police officer.

Major was arrested in March of this year and charged with DUI after a domestic altercation with Lohan. At the time, it was reported that Major had hit Lohan in the face multiple times before attempting to flee.

In regard to her current pregnancy, Lohan claims Major, who gave birth to their first child in Jan. 2013, was forced to carry her property around the jail while still bleeding.

"You know damn well if someone has vaginal bleeding while pregnant that's indicative of a miscarriage," he told TMZ.

Baez will likely attempt to get an order forcing the prison to have Major "examined and treated by a specialist."

The jail had no comment for TMZ.
