Jenny McCarthy is losing weight by eating a soup-based diet.

Ahead of her upcoming wedding to Donnie Wahlberg, McCarthy, who recently cut ties with The View, has embarked on a diet that requires her to eat soap for all three meals.

“I do something called the Soup Diet,” McCarthy revealed to Life & Style on Aug. 8. “I cook tons of soups and freeze them. Then I eat them literally for breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

In 2002, after giving birth to her son, McCarthy tipped the scales at 211 pounds. Luckily, after joining Weight Watchers, she was able to get her body back.

"They taught me portion control and to be conscious of what I put in my mouth," McCarthy explained.

In the years since, McCarthy has tried a number of different diets, including a vegan diet and a gluten-free diet, before opting for the Soup Diet. which Life & Style says is "one of the most effective fat-burning diets ever studied."

“There’s so much research to indicate that soups promote weight loss,” Dr. Wendy Bazilian, DrPH, RD told the magazine. “It’s foolish not to eat it daily.”

McCarthy's Soup Diet news comes less than one month after she told PEOPLE Magazine she and Wahlberg would be getting married "in the next few weeks."

Although the couple has yet to reveal their exact wedding date, McCarthy also said it would be before her son goes back to school, which means it will likely be either this weekend or next.
