Last week, it was reported Drescher, a mother of four, had gotten fired from the series after just two seasons with the show. However, in a new interview, Drescher said she quit the show.

According to a Sept. 9 report by Enstarz, Drescher recently spoke to Millennium Magazine, revealing "she quit" the show. “I don’t know if I’ll be returning to RHONY, but I will be on TV screens again soon!”

On Sept. 5, Us Weekly announced Drescher's firing, claiming the news had been confirmed by a source. Also on Sept. 5, a source revealed to Us Weekly that Ramona Singer had been demoted, and would only be appearing on the seventh season of The Real Housewives of New York City in a limited role.

One day earlier, Page Six revealed Drescher's role was offered to actress Helena Christensen, but she declined.

Despite moving on from the series, be it because of a firing or because she quit, Drescher had only good things to say about her time with Bravo.

“Being on RHONY has been incredible," she said. "While I don’t enjoy gossip and drama as a means for entertainment the amount of people I have helped is tremendous, and writing a book alongside with product development has all been a result of doing the show.”
