After arriving to Los Angeles from New York City on Friday, Bynes' parents, Rick and Lynn, arranged for the former actress to be taken to a hospital outside of L.A. Upon arrival, Bynes was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold.

According to an Oct. 11 report by TMZ, Bynes' parents tricked her into thinking she was being transported from the airport to The London Hotel in West Hollywood, Calif., where she and her parents would meet with her lawyer. Instead, the car service took her to a hospital, where she was evaluated by doctors.

Amanda Bynes Sets The Record Straight Regarding Mental Health Diagnosis

Last month, Bynes was pulled over and charged with a DUI in Los Angeles. After being bailed out, Bynes flew to New York City, where she quickly began making headlines for her strange antics, including a wild bike ride in the middle of town, two shoplifting incidents and an engagement to a 19-year-old actor name Caleb.

"Doctors placed her on a 5150 psychiatric hold, where she will be held for 72 hours," TMZ reported. "That hold can be extended for 14 days."

A second report claimed Bynes checked into a Las Encinas mental health facility in Pasadena, Calif. “Amanda agreed to come back to Los Angeles," a source told Radar Online on Oct. 11. "Her parents are hopeful she will now get the help she needs.”

While Bynes receives medical attention, her parents are hoping to regain a conservatorship.
