The timeless tale of the boy who never grew up was brought into a live musical. Brought by NBC last Thursday, December 4, the show failed to reach the heights and ratings that The Sound of Music Live! brought last year according to a report by Us Magazine.

The musical revival was starred by 26 year old Girls actress, Allison Williams, who played the role of Peter Pan, received mixed reactions because a woman played the iconic role of Peter Pan.  The live musical also starred Christopher Walken, who played the role of Captain Hook, Christian Borie and five-time Tony awardee, Kelli O'Hara. Other Broadway veterans in the production were Jake Lucas and Taylor Louderman. What's also interesting was that the production was culturally sensitive with the casting of Princess Tiger Lily, who was played by Alanna Saunder, a Cherokee descent and the song Ugg-a-Wugg was turned to True Blood Brothers.

An amusing twist to the musical was the crocodile known to torment Captain Hook was turned bright purple and blue.

Peter Pan Live only brought a total of 9.1 million viewers and scored a 2.3 rating in its three hour run in comparison to The Sound of Music Live's 18.6 million viewers and 4.6 rating which starred Carrie Underwood.
Williams, prior to the premier, expressed her excitement over the musical on her Facebook saying, "We have been working so hard for many months to make this happen. This cast and crew has become my family... This has been the most rewarding hybrid of theater and television that I can imagine, and I really don't want it to end."

Despite the ratings, the musical still fared good enough for NBC to declare that they will be working on another musical to air next year.
