We are also used to seeing reality shows and assuming that everyone and everything about them are real but we are caught in a reality check when Kristin Cavallari came clean on Oprah: Where Are They Now?

The 27 year old mom of two shared that Laguna Beach was "tough" and that she felt "very used and manipulated", revealing that her experience in the MTV reality show was more than just fun and games. Cavallari appeared on the show that revolved around the lives of high school teenagers in Orange County when she was still 17 years old and was seen as the main villain against the star, Lauren Conrad. The two were pitted against the apple of the school's eyes, Stephen Colletti. Interesting enough Cavallari and Colletti were dating at that time.

Cavallari shares that during those times, the producers would make Colletti take Conrad around on dates stating that those "never would've happened if it wasn't for the show, for MTV". She further shares on why she presented a harsh behavior throughout the duration of the show, "I put up a really tough exterior because I felt like they were really trying to take advantage of me. It was a really difficult time, and then when I saw it air, and saw the way that they represented me, I was really, really upset. I cried for hours and hours after I saw the first episode. It was hard, it was really hard."

She also shared that the show was a "really wild time in my life" as Laguna Beach became an instant success.

Cavallari also starred in another MTV show named The Hills which then catapulted her fame into the lifestyle empire that she is now maintaining.

Fame does come with a cost.
