The hugely successful 2003 Disney-Pixar movie Finding Nemo is finally getting a sequel titled Finding Dory. This news has been known for awhile but now that the plot and storyline are officially moving forward, including Ellen DeGeneres being the voice of Dory and Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy being the voices of her parents.

Finding Dory is scheduled to hit theaters on June 17, 2016.

Pixar president Jim Morris shared some major details at Con Experience over the weekend in Brazil, according to THR. He revealed that most of the film will be set in the Marine Biology Institute of California, a large rehabilitation facility for marine life. "Dory (DeGeneres) finds out that she was born there and was freed into the ocean at a young age," the mag shares on the storyline. Adding, "Dory, is inspired to embark on a journey in search of her parents (Keaton and Levy) after she joins Nemo on a school trip to watch the migration of manta rays."

Official Plot: Finding Dory will be focused on the amnesiac character Dory, and will explore the idea of her being reunited with her family. The film will take place one year after the events of Finding Nemo and will be set off the coast of California.

Nemo and the rest of the "Tank Gang" will return for the movie, as well as many of the other original characters from Nemo, in addition to several new ones that have yet to be announced. It is unknown if Jacques will reappear for the sequel because his voice actor, Joe Ranft, died in a car accident on August 16, 2005, during production of Cars. It is also unknown if Nemo's voice actor Alexander Gould, who was nine years old at the time the first film was made, will be voicing the character again, as his voice has deepened with age.
