Charlie Sheen, the lead star in FX's Anger Management TV series, will be guesting in an upcoming episode of ABC's The Goldbergs playing the cameo he did in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, a comedy film released by Paramount Pictures in 1986 starring Matthew Broderick in the title role .

Sheen, 49, will be reprising his character "The Boy in the Police Station," a juvenile delinquent who gets to romance Ferris Bueller's sister at the police station. Twenty-eight years after, Sheen will be seen again in his familiar leather jacket, jeans and motorcycle boots. This time around, it will be Barry Goldberg's (Troy Gentile) sister Erica (Hayley Orrantia) who the now middle-aged delinquent will be trying to comfort at the police station.

Except for some details, the upcoming Goldbergs episode will be mirroring the plot of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. In the TV series, it will be the teenaged Barry who will be faking sickness in order to take a whole day off of school and other responsibilities, much like Ferris did in the original film. Also, it will be Pops (George Segal) and Barry's brother Adam (Sean Giambrone) who will be acting as accomplices while the teenager plays hooky. Also, unlike in the film, Barry at some point will end up at the police station, leading to the scene where Erica will meet Sheen while sitting on a nearly identical blue couch as in the movie.

Meanwhile on the FX channel, Sheen's own Anger Management TV series is set to air its 100th and final episode on December 22. For the milestone last episode, Sheen will be reunited with his Major League co-star Corbin Bernsen who told AOL: "For all the crap that's ever been said, I've never seen anybody who as generous, kind, and truly caring about crew and family around a show. And I know that to be true. I remember that from Major League and I saw it evidenced here today."
