Benedict Cumberbatch is the most in-demand actor of 2014!

Benedict Cumberbatch is the hottest actor for this year. As the year comes to an end, the success and upcoming projects of the dashing actor is on the rise.

The 38-year-old actor rose to worldwide stardom with his portrayal of the legendary Sherlock Holmes in BBC's Sherlock. He stars alongside Martin Freeman who plays John Watson. For his portrayal, he won the Emmy Awards for Best Actor this year.

The British actor then nabbed the role of Khan in the Star Trek franchise and he played it so damn well that throngs of ladies can't help but sign up in becoming Cumberbitches.

He broke the internet with his charming comic antics, one of which is when he photobombs on a picture of the Irish band U2 in the last Academy Awards.

And what about that baritone deep voice? The actor voiced the dragon Smaug and Necromancer in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit franchise and as Classified in the Penguins of Madagascar.

His latest movie, The Imitation Game, is getting a loud Oscar buzz. He plays the role of Alan Turing who broke the German's Enigma machine along with other mathematicians during World War II which saved millions of lives. Turing was considered the father of modern-day computing. Cumberbatch's powerful acting has won him several awards and nominations already including the Hollywood Film Awards, Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Golden Globe Awards. Next stop is the Oscars.

Marvel also revealed that Cumberbatch will be playing the role of Dr. Stephen Strange in Doctor Strange slated for a 2016 release date.

Cumberbatch is now filming Black Mass alongside Johnny Depp, playing as Depp's brother. In the UK, he will be playing King Richard in the TV film, The Hollow Crown: The Wars of the Roses.

But things don't stop there, last month he announced his engagement, the old-fashion way to Theater director Sophie Hunter, which broke a lot of hearts.

Because the actor has conquered Hollywood, he is eyeing on a perfect residence to go along with his rising fame. The agent revealed: "Benedict's representatives have indicated he is ready to make an initial offer which will not be too far off the asking price, so he could be moving in early in the New Year."

Well, that is an impressive 2014 for the dashing actor and hope to continue in the coming years.
