There is going to be one heck of a reunion this holiday season as Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise will be setting aside their differences and reuniting this Christmas for their daughter, 8-year-old Suri Cruise.

According to a report by Design and Trend, the former wife of the Mission Impossible star agreed to the reunion to make their daughter happy despite her own wish that she would prefer to spend Christmas with her own family. Last year was Tom's turn to have Suri for Christmas.

The couple split in 2012 after a five year marriage since 2007 with Holmes receiving the custody of Suri as she would like to protect her daughter from Cruise's Scientology beliefs. In fact, Holmes would prefer not to set foot in the actor's home though she had invited Tom to visit over theirs for the holidays. "There's no way Katie will set foot in Tom's home or be in the same room as the rest of his family, because they are so involved with the Scientology movement".

Holmes admits in an interview with Hello! Magazine that she is an overprotective parent to her daughter. "Any parent has to watch everything that is going on around her child and I think I am a little overprotective because I'm always the one to say, 'Watch out, there's a car...'. I try to be as informed as possible in terms of looking and listening to what's going on, and getting to know my child's friends."

In terms of her career, Holmes is still going strong with two films to be launched on 2015 the first being Mania Days, a romantic drama between two manic depressives, and The Woman in Gold, a film that tells the story of a Jewish woman battling government bureaucracy in an effort to recover artwork that had once belonged to her family.
