Elizabeth Banks to return on Modern family; Working on her first directorial debut

Elizabeth Banks is coming back to Modern Family! She, along with Nathan Lane.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the two will be appearing in an episode scheduled for February where she will be thrown a baby shower, courtesy of Cam (Eric Stonestreet) Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Pepper.

Banks' character was last seen rushing off to the hospital to give birth to her child in the season five finale.

Aside from acting, Banks is also busy with other artistic directions such as directing her first film the musical comedy, Pitch Perfect 2 which is slated to premiere this May. The film's synopsis runs as "The Barden Bellas enter an international acapella competition that no American group has ever won". Currently, there have been not much spoilers about the highly anticipated film as most of it is being kept secret from their adoring fans. But from what we know is that Banks' directorial debut, we will be seeing Rebel Wilson doing some crazy stunts and a cameo appearance by a certain football team.

So far, Banks' has this to say about the movie, "They [Barden Bellas] are prohibited-and I won't say why-from competing at the collegiate level. So they are sort of forced to enter a professional world competition in order to be reinstated," Celebeat quotes.

If things go well for Pitch Perfect 2 we might even see a Pitch Perfect 3 as there have been talks that Universal is considering for a third movie.

Modern Family was recently nominated for the Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Comedy category award at the Producer's Guild of America Awards where it will be pitted against the likes of Orange Is The New Black and Louie. The series has also been lauded with several awards such as five consecutive awards for the Outstanding Comedy Series and a Golden Globe for Best Comedy Television Series.
