The upcoming movie Effie Gray starring Dakota Fanning has released a new trailer online this week. You can check it out above.

Along with Fanning, the Richard Laxton directed movie stars Emma Thompson, Julie Walters, Tom Sturridge, Robbie Coltrane, Claudia Cardinale, Derek Jacobi, David Suchet, James Fox and Linda Bassett.

Synopsis: In her original screenplay EFFIE GRAY, writer Emma Thompson takes a bold look at the real life story of the Effie Gray-John Ruskin marriage, while courageously exposing what was truly hiding behind the veil of their public life. Set in a time when neither divorce nor gay marriage were an option, EFFIE GRAY is the story of a young woman coming of age and finding her own voice in a world where women were expected to be seen but not heard. EFFIE GRAY explores the roots of sexual intolerance, which continue to have a stronghold today, while shedding light on the marital politics of the Victorian era.

Effie Gray is out in theaters on April 3rd.

Fanning had her breakthrough performance at age seven in the 2001 film I Am Sam. Her performance earned her a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award at age eight in 2002, making her the youngest nominee in history.

Some of her best films have included Man on Fire (2004), War of the Worlds (2005) and Charlotte's Web (2006). Fanning then began the transition to more adult roles with Hounddog (2007) and The Secret Life of Bees (2008). Her recent film roles have included the eponymous character in Coraline (2009), Cherie Currie in The Runaways (2010), Annie James in The Motel Life (2013), and Jane in The Twilight Saga (2009-12).
