This year marks the final year of the musical drama-comedy, Glee, and what better way to kick off the final season is to perform an explosive song in the premiere episode. Lea Michele kicked off the sixth season's first episode with her own cover of Frozen, the award winning song, "Let It Go".

Yes "Let It Go" covers are not yet over!

What's wonderful about this cover is that Michele is singing the song of the actress that played her character, Rachel Berry's biological mother Shelby Corcoran, portrayed by Idina Menzel, a few seasons back. Michele sings the highly-acclaimed song as she returns to her alma mater from a disastrous career in stardom to try to revive the school's Glee Club. If you would remember, the McKinley Glee Club was shut down because they were unable to get first place in the Nationals. As she sang the song, her character is seen stripping down mementos from her life in New York City in her bedroom.

The musical dramedy was reported to have hit low ratings during its fifth season finale with only 1.9 million viewers tuning in to watch. As a result, the show was trimmed down to only 20 episodes and with a Friday night timeslot. One couldn't blame them as the show's entire plot for its fifth season had to readjust because of the unexpected death of Cory Monteith who portrayed Michele's love interest and was also her off-screen romance. The actor died due to drug overdose in July 2013.

Time writes that show creator Ryan Murphy said that this season was supposed to be dedicated to Finchel (Finn and Rachel). "At the end of season six, Lea [Michele's] Rachel was going to have become a big Broadway star, the role she was born to play. Finn was going to become a teacher, settled down happily in Ohio, at peace with his choice and no longer feeling like a Lima loser. The very last line of dialogue was to be this: Rachel comes back to Ohio, fulfilled and yet not, and walks into Finn's Glee Club. "What are you doing here?" he would ask. "I'm home," she would reply. Fade out. The end.""

According to an interview with Jane Lynch via ET Online, Fashion & Style quotes, "We are in season 6 and all of the kids are back at McKinley. We've got the original group of people from season 1. Mark Salling is back as Puck, Quinn Fabray [aka] Dianna Agron is back. Naya [Rivera] and Heather [Morris] are back so we've got Brittana."  The actress who plays the villain of the series, Sue Sylvester adds, "It's that whole young adult thing where you go away from home and you don't succeed the way you want. You come back home to be around the people you love. That's exactly what they're doing."
