Former Harry Potter actor, Rupert Grint closes his run in the Broadway show "It's Only a Play" last January 4. Grint co-starred with Tony award winner Nathan Lane and Emmy award winner Megan Mullally. Grint, Lane and Mullally took their last bows and accepted flowers from their co-stars after their show with Grint getting all emotional from the farewell.

The play opened just last year October and will continue on until March.

Grint plays the role of Frank Finger who is a young director. According to its producers, Tom Kirdahy, Roy Furman and Ken Davenport, Playbill quotes, "it's opening night of Peter Austin's (Broderick) new play as he anxiously waits to see if his show is a hit. With his career on the line, he shares his big First Night with his best friend, a television star (Lane), his fledgling producer (Mullally), his erratic leading lady (Channing), his wunderkind director (Grint), an infamous drama critic, and a wide-eyed coat check attendant on his first night in Manhattan. It's alternately raucous, ridiculous and tender - reminding audiences why there's no business like show business".

As of January 7 their roles have been taken by Tony winners Matthew Broderick and Katie Finneran where they are joined by Martin Short and 30 Rock alum, Maulik Pancholy, who will be making his debut in Broadway. Broderick is also part of the original cast.

The original cast members that will be remaining in the production are F. Murray Abraham, Stockard Channing and Micha Stock.

Shortly after Harry Potter, the British star worked on edgy roles such as the anti-war film Into the White back in 2012, the 2009 film Cherrybom (which lauded raves in the Berlin film festival) and dedicating his time into charity work. He even went ahead to fulfill his childhood dream of owning an ice cream truck.
