Emma Stone had come a long way in Hollywood since she started. The Arizona-born actress was nominated for the first time in the Best Supporting Actress Category from the prestigious Academy Awards.

Stone plays Sam Thomson, the daughter of Michael Keaton's character in the universally-acclaimed film, Birdman. The film was nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor (Keaton), Best Supporting Actor (Edward Norton), Best Director (Alejandro González Iñárritu), Best Cinematography, Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing. Keaton already won Best Actor from the recent Critic's Choice Awards.

The 26-year-old actress had received various nominations from different award-giving bodies for her portrayal of the role.

In response to the Oscar nomination, The Amazing Spider-Man actress' reaction was pretty funky, cute, and, frankly, very Emma. "Well this is surreal. I am completely knocked out. Thank you to the Academy for this incredible honor. I am very proud and lucky to be part of Birdman and I can't believe it came to this. I am so f--ing excited. Are you allowed to say 'f--' when making a statement for the Oscars? I'm just really f--ing excited," according to a report by Vanity Fair.

Stone is currently playing as Sally Bowles in Broadway's Cabaret. She received critical praise on her performance of Sally. Sienna Miller will be playing the role by next month.

The actress will be seen next alongside Bradley Cooper in a yet untitled Cameron Crowe project. The film's synopsis follows Brian Gilcrest (Bradley Cooper), a defense contractor who falls for Allison Ng (Emma Stone), an Air Force pilot, after he is assigned to oversee the launch of a weapons satellite from Hawaii.
