TLC New Album Releasing 2015 With Fans Funding Through Kickstarter, Watch Their Interview Here (VIDEO)

TLC, one of the most-successful music groups of all time, have announced they are putting out one final album. Even though they have sold over 65 million records, they are choosing to use Kickstarter to have fans fund their final project. "To our AMAZING fans! We have SUPER EXCITING NEWS to share with you! WE ARE RECORDING OUR LAST AND FINAL ALBUM. And we want to do it with YOU, our FANS (our babies!!).

We owe so much of our success to you. Your loyalty and support throughout the past 20 years motivates us to do our best work. Without you, we wouldn't have ten top 10 singles and four number 1 singles. We wouldn't have won five Grammy awards or sold 65 million records worldwide. Without you, we wouldn't have become the most successful girl group of all time! Without you there would be no TLC!! This album, our FINAL ALBUM, is dedicated to all of you that have stuck with us, always challenging us to do our best. And of course, it's for the new fans too! ;) We just want to put out great music that touches everyone. That's it.

Now about that SOUND!

Our final album will stay true to the TLC sound, always confronting the real issues and life experiences that we all must face every single day, everywhere. We write music that people relate to...timeless music. No matter the trends, we feel like our music is always relevant. You'll always have a guy hanging out the passenger side! And sometimes you'll feel damn unpretty! We will continue to make music for EVERYONE, music that's UNIVERSAL, TOUCHABLE. This final album will be the first studio album by the two of us. Of course, Lisa's spirit will always be present in our music. That will never change. We have already enlisted many key members from our original team (we're looking at you KANDI BURRUSS!), plus many more! We will be announcing more members of the team and other news in the days to come here on Kickstarter.

You might be thinking, why NOW?

While major labels offer artists multimillion dollar recording and marketing budgets, they don't often give artists complete control of their own music. It is ESSENTIAL that we create our final album completely on our own terms, without any restrictions, with YOU. Plus, we are still singing. It's what we love to do, so WHY NOT?! We feel so blessed to have this opportunity to continue making music, and even more blessed that we get to do it with every single one of you.

Over the years, we have always been hands on with our fans! Now Kickstarter allows us to directly connect with you. Send us Kickstarter messages, write comments, check out our updates. It will be fun :) We also want you to ROCK THE VOTE. We will send ALL BACKERS who pledge $5 or MORE a list of tracks we want to remix. YOU will vote on your favorite, and the track with the most votes will be included on the album!!

Where's this money going?

Every penny we raise during this campaign will go towards MAKING this final album together with you! The initial goal of $150,000 will go towards a writing session in the studio with a producer and engineer. The money beyond that will go to booking music producers, writing sessions, mixing sessions, recording sessions, and SO much more.

We want to work with the best in the business, so the more we raise means access to the best.
