Brandon Jennings, 25, point guard for the Detroit Pistons, suffered a ruptured left Achilles tendon during Saturday's game in Milwaukee. The Pistons ended up losing the game to the Bucks 101-86.

Jennings posted "6/9months" at his Twitter account the following Sunday alluding perhaps to how long he will have to be sidelined. Before that, he tweeted the following messages to his team mates: "We gotta just keep pushin' WE (Pistons) worked to hard to get down about anything right now. We gotta stay focus on the main Goal. Playoffs!"; "It's a opportunity for someone else now to step up and ball out. Let's keep it Rollin' Fellas."; and, "Not being able to play basketball is the worst thing."

The Pistons declined to set any timetable for Jennings' return from injury, which was diagnosed after an MRI examination Sunday, following their announcement that their 6-foot-1 point guard will undergo surgery and will be out for the rest of the season due to his ruptured left Achilles tendon.

Jennings was injured with 1:03 left in the third quarter of on a non-contact play while defending Brandon Knight in the backcourt. Describing the incident, the Detroit News wrote: "Bucks point guard Brandon Knight pushed off Jennings to receive an inbounds pass in the third quarter Saturday night, then Jennings' left leg appeared to give out on him - as he writhed in pain on the baseline, yelling out and spinning on the floor multiple times before team medical personnel were able to get to him. Jennings could put no weight on his leg as he was helped off the floor, possibly ending his recent resurgence - and facing the possibility of a long recovery from what could be a torn Achilles."

According to Michigan Live, D.J. Augustin is expected to start in Jenning' place, with rookie Spencer Dinwiddie the only reserve point guard, as the Pistons play the second of four games in five days.

Jennings appeared in 41 games this season, averaging 15.4 points, 6.6 assists and 1.07 steals in 28.6 minutes per game.
