‘Parks and Recreation’ NBC Season 7 News: It is the Show's Final Season

Parks and Recreation season 7 eighth and ninth episodes, titled "Ms. Ludgate-Dwyer Goes to Washington" and "Pie-Mary" respectively, will both be airing on February 10 one after the other according to the network's programming schedule.

The show's seventh and final season, which will comprise of just 13 episodes, premiered on January 13 and will be airing its finale, fittingly titled "One Last Ride," on February 24. It stars Amy Poeler as Leslie Knope, Adam Scott Ben Wyatt, Aubrey Plaza as April Ludgate, Aziz Ansari as Tom Haverford, Chris Pratt as Andy Dwyer, Jim O'Heir as Jerry Gergich, Nick Offerman as Ron Swanson, Rashida Jones as Ann Perkins, Rob Lowe as Chris Traeger, and Retta as Donna Meagle.

According to the studio's synopsis, "Ms. Ludgate-Dwyer Goes to Washington" will find Leslie and April taking a business trip to Washington, with April having to wrestle with her future. Meanwhile, back in Pawnee, Andy tries to find April the perfect job. In "Pie-Mary," Leslie and Ben will come under fire for participating in an old Pawnee tradition. April and Ron will go on a scavenger hunt. And Donna and Garry (Jerry's real name) will be strolling down memory lane.

Parks and Recreation jumped ahead three years during its season six finale according to show runner Mike Schur in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in anticipation of the show's final run. He said: "The idea that we're nearing the end is part of what gave us the courage to do something like jumping ahead in time. We know we don't have to sustain it for five years. It's a move you do when you know that the show is nearing the end of its run."

Parks and Recreation has received several awards and nominations, including a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series five Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe win for Poehler's performance, and a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series -- Musical or Comedy. It also won 2013's Television Critics Association Award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy.
