Annabelle Wallis, 30, best known for her TV roles as Grace Burgess in BBC's Peaky Blinders and as Jane Seymour in Showtime's The Tudors, is set to portray Maid Maggie on the big-screen in Warner Bros.' Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur.

Charlie Hunnam, 34, best known for portraying Jax Teller in the FX series Sons of Anarchy and Raleigh Beckett in the science fiction film Pacific Rim, has been cast in the film's title role. Already confirmed to be also in the cast are Eric Bana as Artur's father Uther Pendragon, Astrid Berges-Frisbey as Guinevere, Djimon Hounsou as Merlin, Mikael Persbrandt as Kjartan and Jude Law in a still undisclosed villain role.

To be directed by Guy Ritchie from a screenplay by Joby Harold, Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur is the first of a planned series of six films based on the legend of King Arthur and his Camelot. Ritchie's take on the retelling of Thomas Malory's 15th century "Le Morte D'Arthur," will unfold, according to the studio, thus: "The bold new story introduces a streetwise young Arthur who runs the back alleys of Londonium with his gang, unaware of the life he was born for until he grasps hold of the sword Excalibur-and with it, his future. Instantly challenged by the power of Excalibur, Arthur is forced to make some hard choices. Throwing in with the Resistance and a mysterious young woman named Guinevere, he must learn to master the sword, face down his demons and unite the people to defeat the tyrant Vortigern, who stole his crown and murdered his parents, and become King."

Lionel Wigram, Akiva Goldsman, Tory Tunnell with screenplay writer Harold are producing. Principal photography started February this year at Leavesden Studios in London. Ritchie's Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur is set to hit theaters on July 22, 2016.

Wallis who starred in Warners' horror hit Annabelle last year, will next be seen on the big-screen in a comedy role with Sacha Baron Cohen, Isla Fisher, Penelope Cruz, Mark Strong, Ian McShane, Rebel Wilson in Louis Leterrier's Grimsby which will show in theaters on February 26, 2016.
