'Criminal Minds' to Take a Crack on Another Spin Off

The popular crime drama series is cracking their own nails into a spin-off. Those who have been following the series would remember that it has one tried making a spin-off back in 2011 named "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior" but was not successful as it lasted only one season. It was only early this year that the series' executive producer, Erica Messer gave the green light to launch the spin-off. This new attempt however will be casting CSI: NY veteran, Gary Sinise, as Jack Garrett while Breaking Bad's Anna Gunn is set to star as Lily Lambert. They will be accompanied by Daniel Henney as Special Ops Agent Matthew Simmons and Tyler James Williams as Russ Montgomery an International Unit tech expert.

Primetime reports that the pilot with be entitled 'Beyond Borders' and is set to air on the 19th episode of the current Criminal Minds season on April 8. The April 8 episode will serves as the backdoor pilot for the spin off series wherein Rossi's team will meet up the new BAU crew as they track down a killer in Barbados during a kidnapping of a family of four in a trip to the Caribbean. According to Messer, the two FBI teams are aware of each other yet the episode will serve as the first time that they will ever work with each other. She also adds a bit of tidbit to the episode, "We find out that this unsub eluded Jack's team two years ago. He killed a family in Aruba and it [haunts] Jack that they weren't able to catch him. Last year, he got away from the BAU when he killed a family in Florida and now this year, he's striking in Barbados, and we're gonna get these two teams together to finally catch this guy," Cinema Blend quotes.

Latin Post further adds that it will focus on the international division of the FBI and will have special focus on agents that help American citizens who are in danger in foreign countries.
