Showtime's House of Lies has been renewed for a 10-episode 5th season. Created by Matthew Carnahan, the 30-minute dark comedy series based on Martin Kring's book, House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Then Tell You the Time, follows a group of management consultants who stop at nothing to get business deals done. Executive produced by Carnahan with Jessika Borsiczky and David Walpert, along with three-time Emmy-nominated and Golden Globe-winning actor, Don Cheadle who also stars as Marty Kaan, the immoral and deceitful proprietor of consultancy firm Kaan & Associates.

House of Lies also stars Kristen Bell as Jeannie van der Hooven, a partner at Kaan & Associates with whom Marty has a complex relationship; Ben Schwartz as Clyde Oberholdt, a member of Marty's consultant pod who specialises in marketing and spin; Josh Lawson as Doug Guggenheim, a member of Marty's consultant pod who specialises in numerical analysis; Dawn Olivieri as Monica Talbot, an ex-partner at rival firm Kinsley & Associates, and Marty's ex-wife; Donis Leonard Jr. as Roscoe Kaan, the flamboyant 15-year-old son of Monica and Marty; and Glyn Turman  as Jeremiah Kaan, Marty's ex-psychiatrist father and the main caregiver for Roscoe.

Last week, season 4 wrapped up with a finale that apparently has a happy ending. Marty fought to save Kaan & Associates from the brink and from Denna Altshuler's (guest star Mary McCormack) death grip, while Jeannie was giving birth to their baby. Meanwhile, Clyde and Doug's billionaire venture going bust had an unexpected upside, while Marty's son Roscoe atoned for his illegal side business. But the expression on Marty's face during the closing moments of the show isn't one of happiness. After all, Jeannie has accepted a new job that will see her leaving the company, and his son Roscoe's graduating from high school drama is now in question.
