Zayn Malik, 22, now officially a former member of the boy band One Direction, reportedly teamed up with English producer and songwriter Naughty Boy, whose real name is Shahid Khan, on the new track, I Won't Mind, which was released on SoundCloud on Tuesday. Naughty Boy posted on Twitter a link to the track with the words "let the music do the talking." Hours later, the track on SoundCloud is no longer available, but it included the caption: "There is nothing but love for what was left behind. That's why we don't mind. ;) #zaughty #zinabad."

As gathered by BBC News, Naughty Boy tweeted about the song hours after an argument with Zayn Malik's former One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson who accused the producer of "trying to wind the fans up" after he retweeted a video saying "Zaughty will rise," a reference to him now working with Zayn. Tomlinson responded with a tweet that reads: "Wow @NaughtyBoyMusic you're so inconsiderate pal, seriously how old are you? Grow up! #masterofallwisdom." Naughty Boy's next tweet with the link to the I Won't Mind demo was apparently wrongly taken by fans as Zayn's first solo single.

In fact, as learned by Daily Mail, the track I Won't Mind is an old song which was recorded for but ultimately did not make it on to One Direction's last album "FOUR." Quoting an unnamed insider, the news site wrote: "'It's important fans know this isn't a solo Zayn song or even representative of material he might record in the future. If you listen to the track it is clearly a song written with One Direction in mind for their last album. It's not new, nor is it a Zayn Malik solo track." Naughty Boy later removed  the track from the web following the backlash from the One Direction fans who misunderstood his tweets to Tomlinson.

Malik signed off from the group during the Asian leg of their "On the Road Again" concert tour. The last time he performed with One Direction was at their March 18 show at the AsiaWorld Arena in Hong Kong. He was no longer with them when they left for Manila for their scheduled concert at the SM Mall of Asia. Instead, he enplaned back to the UK in an effort to save his long-running relationship with his fiancee, Perrie Edwards, after photos of him apparently getting intimate with another woman in a Thailand nightclub surfaced on the tabloids and the Internet.
