Cyrus Arnold Stars as 'Derek Zoolander Jr.' in 'Zoolander 2'

Before the ending of the original 2001 Zoolander film, Ben Stiller's Derek Zoolander and Owen Wilson's Hansel McDonald were shown as having left the fashion industry to start  "The Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too." Derek and Christine Taylor's Matilda Jeffries were also shown as married and having a son they named Derek Zoolander, Jr., who then seemed to have already developed his first modeling look. Today, Stiller via his Instagram page shares a picture of his character's now teenage son looks. He captioned the post: "Meet @cyrusarnold. Son of Derek. #Zoolander2."

Cyrus Arnold, whose screen credits include guest roles in such TV shows as Comedy Bang! Bang!, More Time with the Family, About a Boy, Sam & Cat, Richie Rich, among others, responded with a tweet, confirming, "It's out!!! I am playing Ben Stiller's son in "Zoolander 2"!! So happy to share the news with all of you!! #zoolander2 #derekjr"

As to the upcoming sequel's storyline, not much is known other than the studio's teaser saying that "Derek and Hansel are modeling again when an opposing company attempts to take them out from the business." Of course, back in 2010, in an interview with MTV about the plans for Zoolander 2, Stiller said: "In the fashion world, if you go away for a year, it's changed - it just happens so quickly. I think the idea in the beginning of the movie is that it's 10 years later, and Derek and Hansel are literally forgotten. Nobody remembers who they are, so they have to reinvent themselves."

Justin Theroux who co-wrote the screenplay with Stiller will be directing Zoolander 2. Aside from Stiller, Wilson and Taylor, Will Ferrell will be back to reprise his role as the fashion mogul Jacobim Mugatu. Penelope Cruz is also attached to play a still undisclosed role in the project, as are Kristen Wiig, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Jonah Hill and Cara Delevingne are rumored to also be part of the Zoolander 2 cast. Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld are producing the sequel for under their Red Hour banner. Paramount will be releasing Zoolander 2 to theaters on February 12, 2016.
