Janet Jackson finally speaks up against negative rumors about her having cancer. The singer said none of these rumors were true and has already promised fans that her postponed "Unbreakable" tour will have new dates soon.

After weeks of letting cancer rumors run their course, Jackson now took to Twitter to slam these issues. "Remember...believe it when you hear it from my lips. The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I'm recovering," her tweet reads.

She added that fans need not worry that the tour will not happen because her doctor has now cleared her for work. "My doctors have approved my concert as scheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled. Thank you for your prayers and love," she wrote.

Jackson announced last December through her Facebook account that she needed to undergo surgery and put on hold her "Unbreakable" tour, which was designed to kick off January 9 and run until June 29 this year. She said her tour has to resume in spring instead. Asking fans to pray for her and her family during the difficult time, she also expressly stated that she would not comment on the issue further. Probably because of how grim she sounded on her Twitter post, people and various media outlets were quick to jump to negative conclusions.

Instead of taking her announcement at face value, many speculated that the singer is battling cancer. In particular, following her announcement that she needed to postpone her concert for a surgery, news outlets started to report that Jackson has been diagnosed with a tumor that must be given attention as soon as possible. For one, Yahoo! News claimed that doctors have discovered a growth on Janet's vocal chords that could be "serious."

While there are no confirmed dates yet, fans should know that the tickets for the postponed shows will be honored at the rescheduled shows.
