Zayn Malik talks about his former One Direction bandmates in a revealing Billboard cover story. According to him, there is no beef between him and the remaining 1D boys even though he tried to reach out to them and did not get a reply.

In his interview with Billboard magazine, Zayn somehow accused certain members of his former band, One Direction, of having pride issues. His comment came from his experience of trying to remain in contact with the remaining four band members, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan. "I had every intention of remaining friends with everybody, but I guess certain phone numbers have changed and I haven't received calls from a lot of people. I've reached out to a few of them and not got a reply. Certain people have pride issues, but it's stuff you overcome in time," he shared.

He clarified on the same interview though that he is not going to compete against his old mates, even as his debut album is set to come out really soon. "There are no sides to pick," he says. "We're not going head-to-head."

While Malik's solo music career is going to fly soon, One Direction is currently taking a break from music. This does not mean, however, that the 1D boys are sitting idly by or just taking a vacation. Instead, fans can still see them reunite this year in a popular animated TV series, "Family Guy."

According to Entertainment Weekly, Payne and Tomlinson already recorded dialogues for the animated comedy. The man behind 1D's formation, Simon Cowell, will also be part of the episode. It is not yet known though if he himself or someone else will voice the role.

"Family Guy" executive producers Richard Appel and Steve Callaghan have nothing but good things to say of their time with the 1D members. They said they really enjoyed the time spent with the band until they realized that they were actually "both old enough to be their fathers."
