The award-winning actress' possible inclusion has been confirmed by "The Hulk" himself, Mark Ruffalo. According to Ruffalo, when he saw Blanchett during the Governor's banquet where he heard that the actress was probably circling and discussing with some people about her role in the movie, he immediately rushed to her and almost seemed like begging her to consider the role being offered. If talks become successful, the actress will be joining the cast of Marvel's third franchise of the movie.

"I was like, 'Please, make it work!" Ruffalo told ET Online. The 48-year-old actor also added that Blanchett is among the best actresses in the industry and having her for the role of a baddie is definitely going to be very exciting.

In a recent chat with Jimmy Kimmel during a talk show guesting, Blanchett made a joke about the possibility of replacing the character of "Thor," played by another Australian celebrity, Chris Hemsworth. According to her, "Chris Hemsworth seems so busy, and so I have been actually working out." "They are only replacing an Australian for another one," she said.

This prompted Kimmel to ask if such statement was a confirmation or if it was just her way of avoiding the question. Blanchett denied that she is avoiding the question.

The actress added, if Blanchett accepts the offer, this would be her first acting role for a major comic book, The Times of India reported. While her role in the upcoming third instalment of the superhero film is not known yet, some reports are confirming that she is indeed playing the character of a baddie, which also features Mark Ruffalo as "Hulk" and the villain character to be played by Tom Hiddleston. Hiddleston played the role of Loki in "The Avengers Universe." Chris Hemsworth returns to play the film's lead character. Taika Waiti will be directing the movie, which is set to be shown on Nov. 3, 2017.

Meantime, the award-winning actress is nominated in this year's Oscars for her role in the film "Carol" in the Best Actress in a Leading Role category.
