Gigi Hadid, A Burger Expert, Wins $25,000 To Raise Lyme Disease Awareness

Gigi Hadid won $25,000 on Monday night's episode of "Masterchef Celebrity Showdown." Her food weapon of choice? Her "Gigi Burger."

Page Six reports that the 20-year-old supermodel earned a significant amount of dollars she committed to give to the Global Lyme Alliance for Lyme Disease. She beat cook-off opponent and fellow model Devon Windsor with her pickled jalapeños and crispy onions burger.

Chef Gordon Ramsay thought it was so good that all he could say about it was it's "f-cking delicious." It was so good that Windsor's pasta and shrimp dish did not stand a chance. 

Since Hadid is Victoria's Secret model, it comes off amazing that she can whip up such a burger, let alone know about what good burgers taste like in the first place. But she does, because of a little research she did. According to the model, on her first year in New York, she probably ate 52 burgers on her quest to find the best burger in town.

"The first year I lived in New York I tried a different burger a week to find my favorite burger in New York," she explained. "I always say, eat clean to stay fit, have a burger to stay sane."

The model decided to give her winnings to the abovementioned charitable institution because she is very familiar with the disease and its effects on people. While her mom's, Yolanda Foster's, Lyme disease is no longer a secret, Gigi Hadid recently emotionally revealed that her sister and brother are also affected with it, as reported by ET Online. The model shared that until now, very few are aware of what Lyme disease is and are ignorant of the dire consequences of being bitten by an insect. 

Hadid was so happy that she won. She even took to her Twitter to post a picture of her with the check. On the background was her brother, clearly proud. Hadid jokingly said people should now call her "Master Chef Hadid."
